Snapshots of Bill Jordan of Whimple

"Where have YOU been?" - Bill, as often, sitting afront his front door afronted - well. perhaps our 'snapshot' encounters could have been more frequent...
Introducing himself at the Whimple 2003 flower show (competing, of course).
Running together up Woodhayes Hill, complement indeed - I was 'good at hills'.
Oft recalling, he thought our kids would do well (they are).
Talaton 10K runs (circa 2005-2008), watching out for age-category prizes.
Original timbers and creaking floors of Perriton Farm House, ubiquitous paperwork (burying the rickerty laptop).
Late night emergency stemming a rising torrent from nearby Whimple watercourse.
A Perriton musical extravaganza (circa 2013) - our kids and those from Perriton converted barn.
Perriton orchard Apple Harvesting supporting local cider production.
Table-tennis, badminton and tea among the grand trees of the Perriton Farm garden.
Viewing the house in The Square pre-purchase, a certified Whimpeton in the centre of Whimple.
Regularly spotted jogging, shorts & t-shirt, despite hip replacement and slightly short leg, taken to walking the downhill sections.
Accompanying Bill's final 1mile circuit of the Whimple Fun Run (circa 2022) - still on the lookout for age-category medals.
Tea and cake outside Whimple shop on a sunny day, a pleasant memory.
Sun-blasted sunbathing out back of 3 The Square.
Immediate rapport with my same-generation (Irish) Dad - the story of Bill's Irish ancestry may have featured...
Enjoying Bill's articles, finding his books weighty and appropriate.
Cat-sitting, Bill would walk up from The Square, always happy to ever catch sight of our cautious kitty.
Christmas dinner at our place (circa 2021, time flies!), Bill had seconds of everything...after a glass of wine or 2, walking him back.
A stroll with family inbetween summer showers...catching up with the youngest generation...we used to run this route...
Always amiable and willing to converse, we'll miss long-time friend & neighbour Prof. Bill Jordan of Whimple.
